Who shot Sam Shady? Rooseville, 1931. Sam Shady, private eye to the stars, is celebrating his birthday in style. He’s invited all his current clients, as well as his closest rival, to dinner at his classy house. As his guests are getting to know each other before the first course arrives, Sam steps outside for a quiet smoke and shortly afterwards, he is found lying dead in the middle of his lawn. Find out who made Sam’s birthday go with a bang!
Pet shop owner (his bark is worse than his bite!) Costume : You firmly believe clothes make the man, so you’re only ever seen wearing a stylish double-breasted suit cut from fine Italian cloth, matched with Italian leather shoes. An expensive silk tie is your only concession to colour.
Police officer (he’s a stickler for punishment!) Costume : Your blue police uniform lets people know you have authority. This is further reinforced by the handcuffs and truncheon that swing freely from your belt. Large helmet is optional (don’t be shy!).
Private investigator (he does everything by the book!) Costume : You are always neat and presentable in your tweed sports jacket and crisp white shirt unbuttoned at the neck. Sharply creased black trousers and polished shoes make sure you always start off on the right foot in any investigation. You carry a little book for taking notes and dark glasses (in case you need to go incognito).
Small-time crook (he’s handy with a crowbar!) Costume : A uniform striped grey t-shirt and blindfold with the eyes cut out belie your rich heritage. Heavy boots get you out of most scrapes and a ‘Swag’ bag swung over the shoulder is useful for all occasions.
Famous actress (queen of the casting couch!) Costume : You wear a long glamorous dress and long satin gloves. Precious stones casually hang around your neck and a feather boa drapes across your shoulders. Elegant high-heeled shoes complete the picture.
Lacey’s Secretary (she would do anything for love!) Costume : A long (but tight!) skirt and shirt buttoned to the neck are good for keeping out prying eyes. Your hair is practically tied back allowing you to perform your secretarial duties flawlessly and you are ever ready with pencil and pad for dictation.
The femme fatale (she’s always had a lot of front!) Costume : Your red skirt suit is cut provocatively to above the knee (this is the 1930’s!) with a daring low cut blouse showing just enough to get what you want from any of the male guests. Scarlet lipstick completes your look.
Sam’s Chinese wife (she’ll show you her lotus blossoms!) Costume : Proud of your heritage, you wear an oriental-style dress in a fiery colour (to match your fiery personality!) You choose simple jade jewellery and weave an exotic flower into your hair for that finishing touch. Your make up is striking in bold colours. Your spiked heels could be classed as a dangerous weapon.
